Watercolor Mediums
Water is the medium mostly used with watercolor paints. However, special mediums are sometimes used to influence paint behavior. Watercolor mediums enable artists to add creative effects and techniques to their paintings. Other mediums change the characteristics of the paper or paint. Mediums extend the drying time of the paint and help the paint adhere to the paper. Masking fluid preserves the white of the paper where it is applied.
